HOW TO PLAY YUTNORI

1. Contents

  • Game Board
  • 4 Sticks with round faces and flat faces
  • Tokens

2.  Objective of Yutnori – To be the first team to have all tokens to go around the board

3. How to Play

  • Throw the sticks upward (from sitting position) as high as your shoulder, and let them fall down on the ground.
  • If 4 sticks lay down with……
  • One flat face up called “Do” move one of your tokens forward 1 circle.
  • Two flat faces up called “Gae” move one of your tokens forward 2 circles.
  • Three flat faces up called “Girl” move one of your tokens forward 3 circles.
  • Four flat faces up called “Yut” move one of your tokens forward 4 circles AND have another go.
  • Four round faces up called “Mo” move one of your tokens forward 5 circles AND have another go.
  • There are 4 ways to go around the board.
  • To take shortcuts, your token must land on one of the big circles. There is a big circle placed on each corner of the board. For example, if your first sticks show “Yut” and you want to take the first shortcut, your next sticks must show “Do”. Otherwise, your tokens should continue around the outside perimeter of the board.
  • Each throw applies to only one token, of the player’s choice.
  • There is no limit on the number of tokens on the board.
  • If one of your tokens ends up on a circle which already has one of your tokens, you can stack them together and move them as one.
  • If one of your tokens ends up on the same circle as another player’s token, the other player’s token moves back to the starting circle and you have another go.
