Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK)

Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) is designed to assess and certify the language proficiency of learners of Korean as a second or foreign language. Test results can be used as a guideline for placing foreign students into Korean universities or non-native workers into enterprises in Korea or overseas.

1. Eligibility 

Applicants should be either those whose first language is not Korean, or background speakers who have not completed formal education in Korea.

2. Date of the test: Saturday 21st October 2017

3. Test site

You may sit the test at one of the following test sites:

–  Australia Korean School : Pennant Hills High School, Pennant Hills
–  Lindfield Korean School : Turramurra High School, Turramurra
–  Sydney Full Gospel Church Korean Language School – Ryde : Marsden High,
West Ryde
–  Korean Catholic Language School : St Joachim’s Primary School, Lidcombe
–  University of Sydney : Camperdown Campus
–  Saesoon Korean School : 219A North Rocks Rd North Rocks
–  Cho Dae Korean Baptist Church Korean School : Newington Public School,
–  Sydney Full Gospel Church Korean Language School – Greenacre : 204 Waterloo

4. Time table 

TOPIK I (1~2 Grade) : First Session (Listening/Reading) 09:30 – 11:10
TOPIK II (3~6 Grade): First Session (Listening/Writing) 12:30 – 14:20 / Second Session (Reading) 14:50 – 16:00

5. Application procedure 

1) Online application

www.auskec.kr (Korean Education Centre) –> ‘TOPIK online application’

2) Application closes : 7 August 2017

3) Test fees

TOPIK I (1 ~ 2 Grade)   :  $35
TOPIK II (3 ~ 6 Grade)   :  $40

·  Once the applicants submit the application form, the applicants must send their test fee payment  within 3 days with a copy of their application to the Korean Education Centre in Sydney.
·  Please note that only cheques or money orders will be accepted by post.
·  Cheques or money orders must be made payable to ‘TOPIK’
