For too long fans in Western Australia have been feeling left out from the K-Pop craze with star visits, concerts and events centering around Sydney and Melbourne. That is no more. On the 30th of November 7pm the 2K13 Feel Korea Concert heads to Perth to quench the thirst of fans in Western Australia.
The concert is headed by the Korean Cultural Office Australia, The Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE) and will be another benchmark in the cultural exchange between the youths of Australia and Korea.
This concert will feature several big name artists including the boy group MBLAQ, sensational diva Ailee, vocal veteran Wheesung and heartthrob Alexander. The concert will also feature a non-verbal comedy act from 'Ongals' to add to the full fledged lineup the concert promises.
The concert will be held at Venues West Challenge Stadium which accommodates up to 5,000 seats. Tickets for the concert will be available from www.ticketmaster.com.au from the 6th of November with tickets priced at $10.
This seemingly low price was made possible through the support of the Korean government organizations spearheading the event. This also opens up the possibility for fans from Sydney and Melbourne to visit Perth and attend the concert while setting the second objective of touring the city.
Dr. Dong-ok Lee, Director of the Korean Cultural Office noted 'Sydney and Melbourne had several KPOP concerts to date, however due to geographical circumstances Perth has not had many of these events. I hope through this opportunity fans in Western Australia will have the chance to express their love for KPOP with all their hearts.'
The 2K13 Feel Korea in Perth concert was sponsored by the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Tourism and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Korea Tourism Organisation. Hyundai, Kores, Posco, Kogas and kepco supported the event.
The head organiser of the concert, Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) was established in 2003 in order to encourage and promote the growth of Hallyu (Korean Wave) across the world through establishing various cultural events. In September this year, KOFICE successfully organised a KPOP concert in Vancouver, Canada.
